Q: Why does my Internet Explorer hang or lock up when I open it?
A: It is most likely a corrupt toolbar that has been installed. Uninstall Toolbars by opening Add/Romove Programs or Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Q: How can I keep my computer protected from viruses and trojans?
A: There are no guaranteed ways to protect yourself from a virus but the best practice is to keep your computer and AntiVirus software updated. Don't forget to check for updates on add-on programs like Sun Java and Adobe Flash as they are the most vulnerable and the most frequently updated. Also, manually check for updates just in case the software is not updating properly.

Q: Can I use more than one virus protection program at a time?
A: In most cases it is not a good idea to use more than one virus protection application at a time as they can fight each other and cause corruption and other issues on your computer.

Q: Is an Apple computer better protected against viruses?
A: Apple computers are not necessarily better protected from viruses but viruses for an Apple are far more uncommon verses than a computer running Windows. Apple's operating system is based on Linux so if you own a computer running Linux you will enjoy the same benefit of fewer viruses as you would with an Apple.

Q: My computer won't turn on?
A: There are many resasons a computer will not turn on but one quick tip is to unplug the computer's power cord and then press the power button as if you are turning it on. Then plug the power cord back into the computer and press the power button again to turn the computer on. If the computer does not turn on you most likely have a damaged component inside.

Q: Why is my computer acting "weird" or sluggish?
A: All computers get sluggish over time from being used. A good cleanup utility like Ccleaner can help clear all the build up. If your computer becomes sluggish or starts doing things that are not normal you may have a virus. It is well worth your time to check for updates on all of your programs including your virus protection and then do a complete scan and cleanup because many viruses start out as just annoying but if left unremoved can get much worse quickly.

Q: Why can't I connect to my wireless router?
A: There are many issues that will keep you from connecting to your wireless router. Here are some of the most common. If your device has been connected to the wireless router before but won't connect now, try rebooting your router by unplugging the power to the router for about a minute. Then plug the router back in and give it a minute or two to get booted up and try again. If you have never been able to get connected to your wireless router with your device you are most likely using the wrong wireless password or a wireless network with the same name as previously setup on the device with a different password. Either way check the list of known wireless networks and remove the one that has the same name as your wireless router and try to connect again with the correct password.

Q: I pressed the RESET button on my router and now I can't connect to the router or the internet, Why?
A: The reset button on a router is to restore the router to factory defaults. Factory defaults are only the settings necessary to connect to the router with a wired computer and program it with the settings required by your internet provider as well as your custom WiFi and security settings. If you press the reset button you will most likely have to contact your internet service provider to get help properly setting up your router again.
